Ribco’s Revolutionary RIBs Debut at the Sydney International Boat Show

Trailblazer Michael Clarke, 43rd Test captain of Australia, new owner of a Ribco vessel

Sydney, Australia – August, 2018: Ribco, a leader in premium Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) across the Mediterranean, has officially launched in Australia on the Marina at the Sydney International Boat Show, 2nd – 6th August. To coincide with the launch, legendary cricketer, Michael Clarke has been announced among the first in Australia to acquire a sought after, high performing Ribco RIB.

The Ribco range of superior performance RIBs are at the forefront of a growing trend of versatile tenders and day boats that are defying typical definitions. No longer are tenders just a way of getting to another boat, but are used for their own separate qualities and enjoyed by owners as practical transport and luxurious all-rounders.

According to Oliver Workman of Ribco Australia, “With the ever growing demand for genuinely offshore capable luxury RIBs in Australia, the Ribco range of vessels are perfectly positioned to enter as the most seaworthy, versatile and well-built luxury performance RIBs available in the market today.”

From superyacht tender to luxury day-boat and offshore performance machine, Ribco RIBs span the spectrum of versatility and can be customised to suit the owners’ lifestyle. This was certainly the appeal for Michael Clarke, 43rd Test captain of Australia and new Ribco ambassador, when he decided to acquire a Ribco performance vessel.

“As a long time boating enthusiast, I was on the search for a vessel with exceptional seaworthiness and handling when I came across Ribco on Sydney Harbour. The amazing finishes and performance of the Ribco 28ST are simply unbeatable. From the perfect center console driving position and the way the stepped hull handles, to the quality of the inflatable tubes, ample storage and seating space the Ribco 28ST over delivers in every aspect,” says Clarke.

The Ribco deck layouts are spacious and feature the highest quality materials and finishes, ideal for sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying the sea. Equipped with many features including two sun tents with double beds, WC, hot water, photovoltaic charging system, fridges and even an espresso machine, the Ribco range of RIBs offer many amenities not usually found in a vessel of this class.

“Ribco RIBs are unmatched in luxury, detail, speed, efficiency, safety and offshore capability. Each vessel is the culmination of over two decades of design, engineering and testing in the toughest conditions to ensure thousands of miles of faultless operation at sea. Meticulous detail and craftsmanship flow from bow to stern, highlighting our unwavering commitment to quality. This is evident from the moment you board and in every fitting and fixture used in the production of a Ribco,” says Workman.

Ribco Australia, a partly owned subsidiary of Ribco Greece and extension of the factory head office, provides support for clients and makes it easy to access new models in advance of other markets where agency models are in place. The models brought to Australia have every option included available to their European counterparts, so owners can rest assured all models in Australia are the best versions available.

Ribco Australia is based at the Sydney Superyacht Marina in Rozelle and their range currently includes the Venom 44, the Seafarer 36, and the 28ST.

Ribco Venom 44

The flagship of the Ribco Australia range, the Venom 44 is a sleek 13.5-metre vessel that moves with confidence, agility and speed. With solid fibreglass composite hull, durable Hypalon tubes, hand-laid teak decking, spacious seating area and huge rear sun lounges, the Venom 44 is the ultimate tender and luxury day boat.

The Venom 44 is set apart from most premium RIBs on the market in that it offers true offshore capability. It has Category B certification, which means it is capable of voyages 200-nautical-miles offshore and is also built in 2C survey with a 12-person capacity. With its seven bulkhead hull construction, the Venom 44 is able to withstand winds of force eight and waves heights greater than 4 metres.

The cockpit of the Venom 44 is completely sealed and the self-draining deck means no water gets into the bilge. Its tubes are made of Hypalon fabric from French Manufacturer Orca and has no glaring external seams, unlike other major RIB brands. The Venom 44 can also run at full speed with the tubes completely deflated and is delivered standard with three 350 hp Mercury Verado engines, capable of speeds of 62 knots.

The Venom 44 does not skimp on luxury, with two large sleeping cabins, a large centre console concealing a spacious toilet and shower space, a wet bar and fridge, a Nespresso machine and a top of the line JL audio system.

Ribco Seafarer 36

The Seafarer 36 is a compact alternative to the Venom 44, offering the same level of performance and luxury in a 10.5 metre vessel with an Ultra Deep Vee hull again designed by Lorne Campbell. The Seafarer 36 exhibits many of the design characteristics of its larger counterpart and features a large helm station with the latest electronics installed in a carbon fibre dash panel.

There is ample space on the Seafarer 36, with every amenity cleverly hidden under seats or in lockers. The wet bar with sink and fridge is installed behind the helm seat. Inside the huge centre console hides the WC and shower, with a holding tank in the marine head. There is even a cabin sleeping two in the rear compartment. The hand laid, full teak decking, handmade tubes and electric windless with remote control are standard. Out the back, the Seafarer 36 has two 350 hp Mercury Verado outboards.

Ribco 28ST (Two Stepped Hull)

The 28ST offers superior speed, efficiency and performance due to the vessel’s advanced two stepped hull. This feature provides lift to the 8.5 metre Ribco machine and reduces drag, allowing amazing handling, greater efficiency and a soft, dry ride in all conditions.

The 28ST features the same amazing attention to detail and build quality that the larger Ribco vessels offer, with the centre console and driving position offering a sportscar like experience on the water. There are large bow and stern sun lounges, as well as a substantial aft storage locker, perfect for wakeboards, water skis or other water toys. The 28ST is perfect as a chase boat or high-performance day boat, equally comfortable blasting between beaches and bays or running offshore between Sydney Harbour to Pittwater and beyond.
